Our History
Serving the Vancouver area for more than 17 years, our team of highly-trained professionals boast expertise in opticianry, contact lens solutions and state of the art sight testing. We’re a tight-knit team of Vancouver eyewear specialists, passionate about design and enthralled by style. We’ve been under the same management since our inception in 1994 and we have a long and happy history with our valued clientele.
Our Philosophy
Quality is the overriding factor in everything that we do at Spectus. Our owner, Todd Crichton, crosses the globe in search of the latest styles for our clients, ploughing through the Paris and New York eyewear shows each spring and fall to ensure that Spectus boasts the hottest high-quality eye glass collection in Vancouver.
Our People
Meet Todd: A licensed refracting optician and contact lens specialist, Todd is responsible for the overall mentorship of the store, as well as all the purchasing, training and directing. With an unsurpassed passion for stylish eyewear, Todd enjoys travelling to Paris and New York to search for the finest designs in quality eyewear. When he’s not at Spectus Eyewear or seeking out style in the world’s fashion capitals, he can be found playing soccer with his eight year old twins or studying martial arts.
Meet Walter: Operations Manager Walter is a licensed refracting optician and contact lens specialist, and he has a firm reputation for accuracy and foresight. Organized and precise, Walter is a real fitness-buff who likes to work out.
Meet David: Senior Optician David has more than 20 years of experience to his name. He has a huge range of experience, from teaching optical manufacture to lab work and customer relations. David is a real techno-geek and he’s always the first to have the latest technological gizmos and tools.
Meet Denisa: Super-efficient Administrative Manager Denisa helps with purchasing, sales, representative calls, contact lens service, sight testing and customer service. A firm favourite with our customers, Denisa has an extensive clientele list, all of whom come back to Spectus time and time again for her professionalism and her amazing smile! When she’s not busy dazzling our clients, Denisa likes to travel.
Our Unique Products
Spectus Eyewear is proud to be one of a very select group of retailers in the world to be designated a Lindberg Precious Partner.
As your Vancouver eyewear specialist, we have been stocking Lindberg products for some 12 years, and each year this fully customizable product is our best-selling eyewear collection. Celebrating your individuality, Lindberg frames are custom-made to fit your own personal requirements in Denmark, and then they are shipped to us in the heart of Vancouver within five days.
